Terms and Conditions

Connecticut youth in grades 3 – 12, independently or as part of a team, are welcome to submit a computing solution for the Lt. Governor’s Computing Challenge. By submitting an entry in the either the Concept Challenge, Prototype Challenge or Development Challenge, it is understood that all participants agree to and will abide by the items outlined in terms and conditions below:

  • ELIGIBILITY: This Challenge is open to any Connecticut school-aged child in grades 3 to 12. Submissions may be by an individual student or a team of students within the same grade bands of 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.

  • ORIGINALITY: Challenge submissions must be original and solely owned by the submitter(s).

  • RIGHTS: Submitters own the intellectual property rights to their Challenge submission.

  • CONTENT SUITABILITY: The Challenge submission cannot be indecent, defamatory, in obvious bad taste, demonstrate a lack of respect for public morals or conduct, or depict hatred, defame, or threaten a specific community in the society or incite violence. Contain pornography, obscenity or sexual activity are prohibited; the app must not violate the Intellectual Property, common law or privacy rights of other parties.

  • STUDENT MEDIA CONSENT RELEASE: The Lt. Governor’s Computing Challenge representatives, and authorized media organizations are granted permission to print, photograph, and record students for use in audio, video, film, or any other electronic, digital and printed media. Students may be featured in materials to advertise future challenges and/or increase public awareness of computing through newspapers, radio, TV, the web, DVDs, displays, brochures, and other types of media. In addition, authorization to use submissions or parts thereof to be utilized for the above-named purposes is granted. The permission is granted free from any monetary gain by either party. Further the Lt. Governor’s Computing Challenge and representatives are released from any liabilities, known or unknown, arising out of the use of this material.
